NCL’s newest “It” Girl, Norwegian Gem, left her home at the Meyer Werft ship yard in Papenburg, Germany on Saturday to make her first voyage through the River Ems to Eemshaven in the Netherlands for the start of her sea trials.

Norwegian Gem is the hottest ship to hit the high seas, featuring incredible innovations and amenities that range from a four-lane ten-pin bowling alley and rock climbing wall to a variety of luxury accommodations, including courtyard villas, garden villas and two top-of-the-ship deluxe owner’s suites.

The ship will also feature all the elements of NCL’s dynamic Freestyle Cruising fleet, including ten restaurants, 13 bars and lounges, two swimming pools, a casino and much more.

NCL will celebrate the arrival of Norwegian Gem in the UK with a series of glittering events to be held in Dover on October 5, 2007.

Hundreds of guests, including those attending the Annual PSA Dinner will have a Gem of an evening to include dinner, entertainment from Ruby Wax and an overnight stay on board.
