Hi all

Ive been looking up mini cruises for next year to see whats available and prices. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas for a Wakelover group cruise and who if anyone would be interested? smileysmi

Chubbas XX

This was suggested by my TA earlier this week:

The 2 Night Cruise on the Aurora
Departs 27 September 2008

Cruises from Southampton, Visits Bruges before returning to Southampton

I have based it on 5 inside cabins again. For 10 people

This price comes in at £239 per person

Ok..personally I dont mind where we sail from so I long as I can get there by road, rail or fly. IF.... it ends up being Southampton, I have a couple of spare bedrooms that I can put people up overnight before and after if needs be and we can get a taxi or DH can run us to the port in the morning smilesmi. Oh yeah and Donna smileysmi well done to you too for checking out mini cruises.

How about we start by copy and pasting TS's list and adding any suitable ones to it. When you copy and paste, delete ones that you cant do and just carry forward and add on any ones that you can.The next person starts from the new list adding or taking away and we should at some point end up with a list that we can/want to do and pick from there. Does that sound complicated confusedsmi confusedsmi Hopefully not, it'll get easier as we go on foxes_279

Donna that can be deleted as we go along the list, if it too pricey we can delete it and then post a new list showing what we can do. Im hoping we end up with a small list at the end that the ones who want to go can pick from smilesmi

I originally was looking at the Oriana one on 31st May but its for 4 nights and my DS has A Level exams that week and I don't feel it would be fair to leave him home alone then!foxes_279

Note to everyone - is Spring 2008 out??? If not there will probably be some good deals released on these cruises (April etc)...

Sue - what dates can you do? Let us know exactly from and to dates please.

Donna - WL cruise t-shirts are available (we have also got mousemats and mugs, bags, hats, coasters etc just havent launched them yet - as we are looking for a new supplier that isnt in the States (although you can buy them now from the states of course!) DH designs them all so we can have whatever we want on them (he's a designer so that's what he does anyway). Just have to pay to get them made up (and we are speaking to one of his clients at the moment about this for quotes etc)...Tees etc are not a problem.

Morning - okay. Who is truly interested in going on a short cruise. Obviously you dont have to commit at this stage....but these sort of things do take a lot of work to organise so an idea of numbers is important as it also helps to get quotes.

If you are at this stage at least interested in us organising something - please could you EMAIL me with who would be going and your preferred dates and budget and we'll start from there. Also whether you are prepared to fly if needs be (some of the cheaper cruises dont sail from the UK) and then we can get a general consensus. (And it saves having to trawl through lots of posts to see who wants to do what as well foxes_279)

well, reading all these threads from last night , you all need a kick up the backside ..you are just going around in circlesconfusedsmi..its obvious that our teacher/ school people are not as flexible as the rest of us ..this is meant to be a wakie crew cruise , so my input now is like angie and a few others we can go virtually any time [ except whilst michelle is still pregnant ] .so what we need to do is to work a date around half term for our school buddies .. i,m flexible can go more or less any time . so i,m prepared to work it around half term breaks ..no point in it otherwise ..the idea of this is so we can all go together ...so lets sort the dates first , then sort the cruise ..its not rocket science foxes_279.. if i had not been out last night i would of sorted this and we would now be booking up eeksmi.. so come on get your acts together ..work out the dates first ..then we can book smilesmismilesmi love wendy x p.s and as for you wakie , turning up very late, i would of thought you would of sorted this ..no good looking at the cruises till the dates are sorted !!!!!confusedsmiconfusedsmifoxes_279

As someone who has experienced a "party cruises" and takes a dim view of them I strongly reccommend those experienced cruisers who enjoy full cruises but have never been on one of these to steer clear of them.

They are full of corporates, of people who don't cruise and don't know how to behave themselves, and out of control office and colleague parties.

1997 Oriana - 3n - excellent

1998 Oriana - 3n - dreadul - the corporates had moved in and some drunk hen parties - awful.

2001 Caronia - 5n- excellent - but too many smokers on asmall ship.

2002 Arcadia (now OV1) - 4n - dreadful - as per 1998 - not helped by Arcadia being the least satisfactory of all the then P&O fleet.

Our c.20 ful cruises bear no comparison with these "charades" where the service you norally get on board goes down-hill too.

I wish the lines would kill them and use the nights released to offer another fortnights cruise in te calendar

Hi Wendy - I agree. If people are serious about going we must have dates for everyone - only then can we look at the cruises as there may not even be any suitable cruises within those dates foxes_279 This is why I have asked folks to email me with their dates and if they are really interested in us organising something.
We are "fairly" flexible - but there is an awful lot to do to organise this (its not impossible of course!)......but dates and folks preferences are the key...and if we're being honest we are not going to find something that suits everyone so as I think it was Sue (sorry if not) said - we need to know dates because maybe there would be the chance of orgnising 2!

So as I said before - lets do this properly. If you would like to express an interest at this stage please email me with your personal preferential dates and the other info I asked for....also it may be worth stating how long you would be prepared to travel for too..

Many thanks

Derek .....large parties are not my scene either. We are looking at a mini cruise so as many people as possible can go. I don't drink but would love to meet some people from here and enjoy a few days on board a ship. Hi folks - just so you dont think I have forgotten about this the TA who has offered us some deals for a WakeLover cruise is on her holiday at the moment so I will be speaking to her as soon as she returns.
I have been looking for the October cruises - some are quite pricy for just a couple of nights! eeksmi
