Hi all happysm
My Sister and brother in law (who are pretty much first time cruisers), have booked a cruise on P&O Ventura sailing to the following ports:
Valencia, Barcelona, Pisa/Florence, Rome, Corsica, Gibraltar & Toulon.
They are not internet users and have asked me if I could find out if there are any top tips from you all to "DIY" and what are the "Not To Be Missed" places to see when they dock? teapcsm
Any help or advice would be very much appreciated bighug XX

Here goes..
Barcelona.
you may have to get some transport from the ship to the town, you can walk it but when we visited on the IOS we were a fair way out. Once in by the roundabout at the bottom on Las Rambles you can get a hop on hop off bus, there are four routes if my memory is correct all doing different parts of barcelona but are ideal to visit all the parts you really want to see (too many to mention) I just love Barcelona..
If doing Rome and or Florence, I would advice getting a map prior to going. You can get local transport however the Italians are renown for just not putting that particular time of train/bus etc on and you may find yourself getting a taxi back to the ship (very expensive) but a trip doing the city 'on your own' is fine, just make sure your walking shoes are up to scratch, again you can get the hop on hop off bus in Rome, there is a stop near the drop off point at the pope's house.
Gibraltar, I really would not bother with an organised trip as apart from going up to the apes, its all within walking distance and local taxis are ready and waiting, just make sure you banter. If you need specifics about gib, I used to live there, so just pm me...
The rest I can't help with.
