Anyone else get a little apprehensive when flying - especially in today's climate. I know my heart goes a little pitter patter when we get onboard - its not the flying itself (havent got a problem with that)...more the security of it all.

I always think those people on the scanning machines seem like they arent looking properly!!! madsmi but I'm sure they are....whistlesmi

Anyone else get a little jittery????

Its not the flying I'm scared of, it's the crashing. You can guarantee there will be a crash just before you fly. I also find it incredibly boring as I am fidgety and can't get comfy or go to sleep.

Well if you can aford it. A private jet is the answer. Not too many passengers and very fast check in times. And also on the plus side you get served quicker 24smi24smi24smi

But not that many as they generally do not fly the sort of hours bigger commercial jets do. And also on the plus side of things the seats are more comfortable.

Wendy I ride a motor bike which goes pretty fast been riding them now 30 years still scares the hell out of me some days.Always being told they a dangerous but I am still living prove that if properly maintained and you are aware of the dangers it is a safe mode of transport and that goes for flying too. If aircraft are properly maintained then they are safe to fly.

Flying is the safest mode of transport, yet there are so many people scared of flying. I bet more people get killed in shipping crashes than flying crashes. Anyway thats enough of that sort of talk as I am flying to Kenya next Wednesday.

You nicked my line! I have always been terrified. I even took up gliding to try to get used to it, but it didn't work....I flew quite well and crash-landed a bit, but it was my fault, so next time I'm on a 747 I'm going to ask to drive.foxes_279
