Wakie the weather down in the Caribbean never varies much in terms of temperature- well from 70's to 90's but from a UK weather point of view it's always summer there. They only have two seasons, the wet and the dry. The last winter trip we made down there was at New Year's and it was in the high 80's all the time.
Winter is their High season.
You'll probably have a cool day or two on the way down the Eastern Seaboard, but once you get down by the Florida coast it should start warming up.

Wakie I just looked at your dates again- end of February it will be nice and HOT.
By then everyone in North America is wishing they were down in the islands.
Cruising into old San Juan is fabulous! Quaint old town with cobbled streets and nice people. Good shopping. Take a tour of El Morro.
I haven't been to Barbados or Antigua, but the other resorts are all great,so much to do and see- where to start.... you can spend many happy hours researching what you're going to do,throughout the long winter.
Tortola- (the one time I have been there) it was stunning scenery to pull into port there, but we arrived on a day that it was a National Holiday and practically the whole place was closed down.... we did a little straw market shopping, went back onboard then decided to taxi to a beach, went to get off the ship and were told there was a massive traffic accident/jam and not to try to get there and back as it was chaos...... so, that was the sum total of our Tortola day. It's a very small place.
Makes for good photographs pulling into port though...
Virgin Gorda is the main attraction. madsmi

What's Virgin Gorda ....eeksmi

The Baths at Virgin Gorda is the hottest excursion in the British Virgin Islands- if you're into Grottoes and snorkeling into caves (eeek) They are grottoes that open to the sea. Supposed to be fantastic scenery, but scary to me.
If you do a Google search you'll see numerous photos

As you are having to fly-out, I don't see the point of flying to another cold-climate port (NY).
P&O are good in this respect with their Caribbean programme based from Barbados.
