Cruising the Danube

Cruising the Danube , has anyone done this or something like it on a river cruise?
I keep saying I would love to try it.

No I havent TS - however I think it would be of interest. The same as I fancy a Nile cruise but from what I've seen and heard I dont fancy the boats on the Nile....unless someone has had a different experience from the ones I've heard about.smilesmi

Hi Wakie,

It's funny that Timespliters should mention this, because we also considered doing a river cruise from Vienna to Budapest for a change, opting instead for a 12 day cruise along the Rhine sailing from Amsterdam to Switzerland on the 30th of April next year, which I arranged online this morning.

As it'll be intriguing to see how things have changed since we last went cruising along the Rhine sailing from Cologne to Rudesheim back in 1979, because I'm just hoping that there won't be any rain like we had back then, so much so that the river rose almost dangerously high not only causing some flooding, but also concerned the Dutch captain aboard our particular cruiser as to whether or not they would make it all the way back to Cologne sailing underneath the bridges, which they successfully did JUST!!!smilesmi
