Anyone else been reading about QE2 going to Cape Town?

I think South Africa will be a better place for her than Dubai! munchessm

It seemed strange that she's been untouched since arriving in Dubai despite wonderful plans for her surprisesmi So I'm not surprised to hear she may be moved. happysm

I believe they lost financial backing for their plans of turning her in to a hotel

Cape Town will probably attract the right type of passengers for such a beautiful ship
I was offered the QE2 once as a late booking offer Sue but it seemed a bit too posh for me blushredsm Im more of a spit and sawdust type laughingsomuch laughingsomuch .

Aww Chubbas you missed out it is a lovely ship, very dated but a lot of history in it. We did it from Southampton to Zeebrugge for the last Christmas market trip it did it was decked out in christmas decorations as well happysm

She really should have stayed in Southampton.

Surprised RCI didnt buy her up for pre/post cruise accommodation munchessm

Thats such a shame Chubbas.....that cruise was just in a class of its own....an unforgettable experience....I am so glad I can say I have sailed on herhappysm

Tricia, I think the recomended tips worked out more than the cruise itself which is what put me off confusedsmi That and the fact that I wouldnt have had enough posh frocks for a whole week laughingsomuch

It must have changed then because the tips were far less than on any American ship we have been on.

I`m sure you have enough posh frocks...to go with all the shoes !!laughingsomuch
