I read some posts recently where folk were paying thousands for inside cabins on P&O... I have always wondered why people pay direct book price and wondered what the benefits were to booking direct with P&O?

I suppose thats why people who have never cruised before think cruising is far too expensive...they just see the book price..and think they cant afford it !

The main advantage I can personally see with booking direct is if you have a problem. Once a TA is involved any query has to go via them and not directly with the cruiseline. munchessm
Sometimes cruiselines do if you book direct have offers that aren't advertised.
I have just booked direct with P&O because I was using my Tesco Clubcard vouchers. I spoke to Max (born the same day as Michael Jackson!) at Reservations. munchessm He was very helpful and gave me far more cabin choice than what appears online. Their own system obviously shows all cabins in that grade available. whistlesm
He also said he'd check to see if there were any extra offers he could do.............sadly there weren't apart from the current standard £25 OBC pp which is on offer at present. But he did look and was also very knowledgable about the cabins. I suppose if you are purely dealing with just a few ships you know them extremely well! happysm
I have to say I was very impressed with P&O Reservations..........well done! happysm
