I will do a proper review later but will give you all a brief run down of the cruise.

We sailed out of Southampton before leaving the captain informed of inclement weather in the English Channel and the seas before the Bay of Biscay. Was disappointed with the sail away a part from the ships whistle sounding when we past the other PO ship that was leaving (cant remember which one it was the one Ginny was on) there was no real party atmosphere. However the ship was great fantastic facilities atrium was beautiful, kids facilities where fantastic most of the shows where absolutely brilliant. There was one show it was a comedian (not the late night adult one) the guys name was Rudi something or other he was very funny brilliant in fact. However there was no warning given about the rudeness of his show either in the daily paper or before the show started and this is where the problem was his main joke was about sex drunk men and condoms it was an 8.45 pm family show we had Emma with us and there where several other kids in the audience. Ok she didnt get most of the jokes and thought people where laughing at his silly walk. But thats not the point I pointed this out it in my customer comments questionnaire and am seriously considering writing to PO about it as if we had been told he was rude we would never have taken her to the show with us. However that aside the food was great, weather was mostly fantastic and there was something missing from the cruise confusedsmiconfusedsmi I never met any moaners at all. Mum did on the morning we docked in Gib a woman getting off and flying home because she couldnt sleep, didnt like the ship and could have better food at home. Well there was sirloin steak, poached salmon on the menu every evening along with another four or five alternatives main course so if she could eat better at home she must have a full kitchen of servants giggle. Although mum said she did say that to be honest cruising just wasnt for her but she could see why it appealed to others. Me personally I just dont think she wanted to make the journey back over the bay and into the channel in case it was rough again me personally I didnt think it was particularly rough I have been in a lot worse in a lot smaller ship. But me I never met any moaners everyone I spoke to and I spoke to hundreds of people said they had an absolutely fantastic time.

Oh and for the others on the cruise the Bay of Biscay was not rough on the way over as many people kept saying we didnt reach that until 5pm on the Sunday by which time it was calm it was the channel and the area between the english channel and the bay that was rough (was I the only one who listened to the captain)

full and detailed review will follow shortly happysm

Sounds as though you had a good time then Donna! giggle

So were you impressed with P&O? Would you sail with them again? munchessm

Didn't you have a band on the quay playing to you for sailaway?

If not I wonder if they do so if you sail from Mayflower and not from QEII berth?

That's incredible thanks Donna,

And it was a pity about the other woman your Mum met who couldn't wait to get off the ship, as I disagree with the womans opinion regarding the quality of the food, which just goes to show that cruising doesn't suit everybody unfortunately, anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing your full review and photos.

Cheers
