Hi Guys
Other half has decided that next christmas he doesnt want to do the whole 'family and in-laws' thing... which i am happy to oblidge!!
I have suggested a cruise (will 'hopefully' be our 2nd), but, I now have to find a really good deal for the two of us and our 5 year old daughter. wallsmi
Reason for tight spending - we are going to South Africa in April for 2 weeks!!!foxes_279
Anyways, I have checked Gills Cruises, CompleteCruises, Cruisedirect, DirectCruises, The CruiseKings and a couple of others. Does anyone have a really good website that we can use?
Thanks for any help! confusedsmi

Hi MissBehaving smileysmi
Just wanted to say that i've already decided that next year, i'm staying home! This year we rushed our 3 year old daughter from one house to another and it wasn't fair on her (bless). She couldn't play with any of her toys before we whisked her away to the next place to visit. So, i'm wth you both there foxes_279
Re: your cruise, i'm sorry - I cant help there as i'm probably the only registered user on this forum that has not cruised (yet)! But, I hope you find something. Have you taken your daughter on a cruise before?

I keep saying that one year I'll go on a Christmas/ New Year cruise! smilesmi
It sounds a wonderful idea! foxes_279
I don't know of any website where you can compare prices but if you're prepared to research I'm sure you'll find what you want!!
Some sites you can automatically get quotes on line. Others you need to email etc.
Have you any idea of where you want to go or with which cruise line or aren't you fussed?
I've found the smaller independent firms to be most helpful. Apparently they often offer cheaper quotes when you enquire than what they advertise so as to keep their rivals at bay!!!!.......
Remember too to look for offers such as on board credit or free parking etc
Hope that's been of some help! whistlesmi

oh you lucky thing...i'd love to go on a cruise at christmas/new year....don't think it will ever happen though.
Have you looked at the cruise store & cruise uk. Sue's right about the prices always being cheaper than advertised on the web. Whenever i've phoned the cruise store their prices are lower than the web.

Thanks for your replies! :) We only went on our first cruise last September and visited part of the Caribbean. It was only Gary and I becuase we didnt know if a cruise was suitable for a child of Hayleys age.
However, now that we have seen how much fun children have on board we are really keen for her to experience such a lovely holiday.
Thanks for your advise about phoning, I will certainly give that a try. For some stupid reason I feel slightly embarressed about phoning... stupid I guess, when you consider that I am a Sales Manager anyway!
I cant think of a nicer holiday for Christmas - having to do nothing for the ENTIRE duration... Of course, we will have to have a christmas with the grandparents, but that wont be as stressful I am sure...
Will let you knwo what I find!! :)
Oh, and Michelle - Cruising is awesome!!!

A caribbean cruise sounds delightful smilesmi
My dd is 3 years old and she is often referred to on Wakies Forum as Lil Chubbas.
I will get to cruise one day but for now, taking her abroad seems such a headache! We have holidayed in the UK this year and planning to do the same again in 2008. Id love to cruise on the Genesis in 2009 but we'll see. I'm expecting again so will have small baby too. I will do it - one day smilesmi

I'm glad we've been able to give you a few helpful pointers! smilesmi
Which cruise line did you sail with in the Caribbean?
Remember the market is very competative so nearly everyone out there will be eager to please!!
Happy hunting!! foxes_279

We cruised with Royal Carribean - Adventure of the Seas. AND, we managed to get a good deal on a balcony stateroom so now I dont want to settle for anything less than that ...which adds to the price of course!

Thanks so much for the replies Chubbas and Millyman... I am going to give them a call... They really seems to be a popular company to deal with :) Last time we did it alone... put it all together ourselves.. we were lucky becuase it was just the two of us, but with a child, I would rather not take chances.

I would also give Going Places a try, they were very competitive with the price and even offered to price match any price I got elsewhere.
Good luck with your booking, my brother is booking to cruise to see the northern lights next Christmas....Im already asking if theres room in the suitcase for me 24smi
