Ifinally received my crown and anchor membership today after joining in june.

I emailed Crown and Anchor about membership as i heard nothing from the form I filled in on the Navigator - they sent me letter with a membership number on which I printed off - its as they are so busy they said.
Did the same for my daughter who filled her form in on the same cruise - but heard nothing yet and that's ages ago.

They installed new computer systems in May of 2007 and for whatever reason they could never get the new C&A records to 'talk to' their old system. When we were on Freedom in June the Loyalty Ambassador told me it had been a "nightmare" and they were taking months to fix it and update it. I know we got some updated cruise history and benefits in October but one of my family still hasn't got his updated. Eventually they'll straighten it out I suppose...whistlesmi

Hi Cruise Fairy - hope you enjoyed Christmas Day
We didn't actually do too much on the cruise as you may remember when I began looking for a holiday it was because we really needed a rest - but boy was it hard! lolol Well the second week anyway - the first week we spent lounging around and reading or sleeping.
We did do 2 short tours the first week, the first was in Columbia when we simply walked down the quay side and boarded a pirate ship for a tour round the harbour. We had a good naration as well as music and some excellent dancers to entertain us - hubby and I were actually persuaded to get up and join them in the dancing, we had a laugh but it was a bit hot for dancing for us lololol. Some passengers walkied up the hill (steep) I believe and headed for the town. They said it was the poorest place they had ever seen and beggers were everywhere - not a pleasant experience I believe.
The second tour that week was in Limon (Costa Rica).
This again was enjoyable. We were taken to large stables ( I believe they did horse riding tours from here as well) and sat in a wagon which was pulled by a tractor - into the Rainforrest. It wasn't actually 'my' idea of a forrest as we have woods near us which are denser - but - anyway - again the narrators/guids were very good. We didn't see any Monkey's (but I believe the people on the afternoon tour may have done) We did see a couple of Sloth's and some bright coloured frogs, bullet ants - boy were they BIG! as well as lovely coloured birds. The tour finished with a trip to a Banana plantation which was really good and again informative.

The second week we booked a bus tour around Belize. This seems very flat from what we saw and inline with the sea. It is very much the same as other Caribbean places inso much it has it;s pretty coloured houses and its poor areas with tin shacks on stilts. We stopped at a quiant church where children were practising their nativity performance. Not that impressed with it really. There are quite a few shops in the tender area so anyone who just wanted to get on the tender to shop could do so without leaving the area, although we were told the crime rate is VERY low there.
The last tour we did was in Roaton Honduras - where we went to the beach - this is obviously not geared for tourists - yet - but it seemed as if they are working towards it. The beach area had a shop and stalls on the beach shower/toilet area a band playing and free refreshments (soft) and free sun lounges. The ship only berthed here for half a day and we left around 1.30 - I think it was.
Another problem with getting off this ship was that on tender days if we wanted to get off independantly we had to go into the connextions bar and que for a ticket we just didn't fancy hanging around then getting off at lunch time when it was baking hot - so we just enjoyed the quietness of the ship.
We did think we stood a chance of getting off at Grand Caymen and had planned just to wander round as we had been there before however it was not to be as we never berthed there as you know.
I think it will be a cruise we will do again - to see more of the places we missed - but with another cruise line. smilesmi
