We did this cruise in April 07 had a really good time there were five of us two pensioners myself at 28 a teenager of almost 18 and a 6 year old. This was a great experience which we all really enjoyed especially the 6 year old. The Black Prince is small by the standards of many new ships. However this for me only adds to its charm it has fantastic sporting and health facilties which consist of a medium size well
equiped gym, indoor and out door pool, indoor sport area of good size and out door sports deck, there is also a sauna, jacuzzis, hairdressers and masseur.

There are three restraunts all of which offered good service and good variety well I always found something I liked. Library, small casino and seperate arcade, a well equipped shop although i found much of the stuff on sale a bit expensive considering it was supposed to be duty free, a few quiet lounges, three main bars, show lounge, aquitaine lounge and upstairs bar lounge were smokers tended
to congregate as part of this bar from what i could gather was the only public inside area onboard ship in which smoking is permitted.

There were things going on all throughout the day from golf putting, to shuffleboard, to bingo and quizzes there were the usual how to demonstrtaion, talks on every port of call and several guest lecutrers who spoke on a variety of different subjects from climate change to last of the summer wine, all very good.
Evening entertainment consisted of quizes, game show type shows, the cruise show, guest acts who consisted of a comedian, a violinast and the ships own entertainment crew who put on broadway type shows. all very enjoyable only let down was the flamenco dancers hated them they were a local act who came on board ship. There were also cocktail parties, deck parties barbeques and dolphin racing and if you dont know
what this is u need to go on a fred olsen cruise and see they are great. Captain Lopez was fantastic he really made our 6 year olds cruise he took part in everything, mingled with the passengers and even invited the kids up to the bridge for a visit and there was also a visit from the easter bunny.

Final note our six year old loved this ship but I would not recommened this ship for most under 10's as there are no kids facilities, but she loved it because of the two swimming pools as she loves swimming and spent hours in the pools also she loved taking part with the adults and the other dozen or so kids and teenagers on board. But I think most other young kids would be bored, although I would recommened it for teenagers if they are really into sports and things.
