Do not stay at this hotel! It is awful. RCI chose this pit to be our pre-cruise hotel. I had researched it prior to going and called them to say I wasn't happy but because we were flying into JFK they couldnt change it.

This is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in... and our travelling passengers agreed.

Upon arrival, after 2 hours queuing to get through US immigration, the time was now 3pm and we were informed that the bar and restaurant didnt open until 5pm. There was no room service, instead we were adviesd to 'buy a can of soda from the drinks machines'.

As we didnt have any change (having not yet broken into our dollars) our friend went to the front desk to get the required change for the machine. They refused to give her any change. How then were we to buy a drink. My request for a bottle of water from room service was refused.

More by luck than instruction we happened to 'trip upon' a small booth out of sight from reception, which sold soft drinks, crisps and chocolates. This unfortunately is what we had for our dinner, as the restaurant was over $30 EACH for two courses - and we are talking basic food.

The bar was horrendously expensive, even compared to London prices. We had a small glass of beer each and it came to over $13... although we think the barmaid was making the prices up as she went along!

The horrendous prices actually caused some laughter between us all in the bar... not many went to dinner. We retired early with a packet of biscuits.

We were asked to leave our luggage in the foyer over night. Some people did... many like us refused to leave them on show for anyone to take.

The coach driver had advised us all not to leave the hotel grounds as it wasn't safe. We were literally penned in until the coach arrived the next morning... and the ship itself was over an hours drive away.

Their were hairs on the pillow cases, grimy windows and a noisy air conditioning.

The hotel was just plain and simply awful... I would rather have slept on the coach or at the airport to be honest.

NEVER AGAIN!
