We boarded at Southampton with the usual ease, although there was a large queue within 20 minutes we were in the Belvedere self service restaurant having lunch, this is the only part of Arcadia which I do not like trying to find a free table with a tray of food is not easy. At 2.00 pm the ann ncement came that the cabin was ready, this was easily found as it was our 3rd cruise on Arcadia, had to help some people who were lost although on the whole I find signage throughout the ship very good. Our cabin steward introduced himself and was very pleasant as is usual with P & O staff. Our luggage arrived about 15mins later, unpacking done we then went to the lifeboat drill, then onto the deck to watch the sailaway. We were lucky with the weather on the way to Maderia our first port of call, there for one and a half days, did a short island tour and they explored on our own. On to Tenerife did an excursion here as new tour to places we had not been before, very enjoyable, then Gran Canaria, just stayed round the local shops then back on board as we have been here 4 or 5 times previous. Onto Lanzarote again excellent weather went on Fire Mountain excursion, enjoyed very much. We now set sail for Lisbon, 1st time in this City easy to get around on foot or by the tourist buses. Then on to Vigo my least favourite stop, also weather not as good as the rest of the trip. Back in Southampton, disembarkation was as easy as usual and was on the way home within 15 minutes. We found the food and entertainment, particulaly the Headliners Troup far better than our previous trip in April to the Med. We are booked on her again in September and will be interesting to see the changes made during the recent re-fit.
