Having driven down from Scotland, we arrived at 11:45am. Despite it being the last day of the boat show and official check in time being 3pm, we were given access to our room immediately.
First impressions - WOW
The room was massive, with a huge bed, 2 x 2 seater sofas and a balcony that overlooked Mayflower Park, a separate lobby with plenty storage, bathroom with bath and shower cabinet.
As we were there early, we took full advantage of the facilities and had a very relaxing swim/sauna and steam room before having a walk round the local area and then dinner in town. Similarly, in the morning, after the excitement of watching Oceana sail up the Solent, we had a swim and sauna before enjoying full English breakfast in the restaurant. Probably not the cheapest hotel to stay in compared to others, but it gave us a very momorable start to a very special holiday (our first cruise to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary) and was certainly worth every penny to us.
